The Sunshine Coast is located in southwest British Columbia, Canada.
Although it is part of BC’s mainland, access to the region is by air or by water due to the mountainous terrain. There are no bridges connecting the Sunshine Coast to Vancouver or Vancouver Island regions. Bringing a car to the training requires a ferry ride.

Vancouver International Airport to Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal

Starting out when arriving at the airport you look for the signs that say “Train to City” on the Canada Line run by Translink which provides service allowing travelers to easily connect from metro Vancouver via the SkyTrain & public bus connections to the ferry terminal. The Canada Line train will take you to downtown Vancouver where you will get off at City Centre stop. You will then proceed to Georgia Street where you will catch the #257 Express Bus to Horseshoe Bay and the BC Ferries Horseshoe Bay Terminal about 30 minutes.

It is very easy to use the Vancouver SkyTrain from inside the airport directly to downtown Vancouver (about 20 minutes). YVR to Horseshoe Bay will cost about $8 from the Airport and $3 on your way back to the airport from Horseshoe Bay. Be sure to check ahead for ferry departure times to ensure you make your connection, and take into account that buses may not always be exactly on time.

Taking a cab from the Airport to Horseshoe Bay Ferry

Unfortunately Vancouver does not have Uber or Lift services. A cab from the airport to the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal will take about 45 – 60 minutes and costs about $75 to $100.
